Dr. Mostafa Tavakoli

Director of the GTA-Lab

Dr. Tavakoli is an Associate Professor of Applied Mathematics at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. He is a prominent researcher in the field of graph theory, with a keen focus on graph coloring, metric dimensions, and graph invariants, Dr. Tavakoli has significantly contributed to the understanding of various graph products and their applications. His research includes innovative approaches to graph coloring algorithms, metric dimensions in complex graph structures, and applications of graph theory in molecular chemistry. Dr. Tavakoli has authored numerous influential papers and has a strong record of collaboration with experts globally, including notable mathematicians such as Michael A. Henning and Sandi Klavžar. His work is widely cited in academic circles, reflecting his impact on both theoretical advancements and practical applications in graph theory.

Dr. Mahmood Amintoosi

Director of the GTA-Lab

Dr. Amintoosi is an Associate Professor of Computer Science at Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. With a career starting in 1999, his research interests include Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Graph Neural Networks, Computer Vision, and Combinatorial Optimization. He holds a BSc in Mathematics (Computer Science) and an MSc in Computer Engineering (Software Engineering) from Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. His MSc thesis focused on genetic algorithms for 2D nesting problems.

After teaching at Hakim Sabzevari University, Mahmood earned his PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Iran University of Science and Technology. He returned to Sabzevar University before joining Ferdowsi University in 2023. Mahmood is proficient in Machine Learning, Data Mining, MATLAB, and LaTeX, and has contributed to CTAN and published a book on LaTeX.

Dr. Soheila Ashkezari-T is an Assistant Professor and researcher in machine learning and artificial intelligence at the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences, Department of Computer Science, Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. She specializes in adaptive filtering, distributed processing, pattern recognition, and machine learning. Her extensive research includes developing distributed learning algorithms for graph networks and advancing spectral clustering techniques for graph analysis.

Currently, she is interested in graph neural networks (GNNs) and their applications, particularly in analyzing biomedical signals such as ECG, EEG, and EMG, social network data analysis, and other innovative applications of GNNs.

Dr. Ahmad Erfanian is a distinguished Professor of Pure Mathematics, specializing in group theory, algebraic graphs, and graph theory. He has made significant contributions to the field of mathematics through his dedicated research and teaching. Dr. Erfanian’s work has been instrumental in advancing the understanding of algebraic and graph theoretical concepts, impacting both theoretical research and practical applications. His numerous publications and collaborative projects reflect his unwavering commitment to tackling complex mathematical problems and enriching the global mathematical community. Dr. Erfanian’s efforts highlight his dual role as a scholar and an innovator, solidifying his position as a leading figure in pure mathematics.

Dr. Seyed Hossein Ghafarian

Dr. Ghafarian is a machine learning researcher and an assistant professor at Quchan University of Technology, Quchan, Iran. During his Ph.D., he worked on active learning algorithms which are provably optimal based on both learning theory and game theory. His current research concentrated on active learning, deep learning, game theory, graph theory, and the interesting connections between these fields. Also, he is working on graph neural networks and applications for the early prediction of diseases.

Dr. Kazem Khashyarmanesh is a prominent mathematician affiliated with Ferdowsi University of Mashhad. With a distinguished career in mathematics, his research primarily focuses on Commutative Algebra, Homological Algebra, Algebraic Graph Theory, and Algebraic Coding Theory. Dr. Khashyarmanesh has made significant contributions to these fields. His extensive publication record includes works on graph theory, ring theory, and coding theory. He collaborates with renowned mathematicians worldwide, furthering advancements in mathematical sciences.

Dr. Freydoon Rahbarnia is a distinguished mathematician with a significant impact on the academic community. His research primarily focuses on graph theory, with notable contributions to the study of graph products, coloring problems, and topological indices. Key publications include studies on the star chromatic number of graph products, the Sombor index, and neural network models for optimization problems. Dr. Rahbarnia’s work is characterized by its application of advanced mathematical concepts to both theoretical and practical problems in discrete mathematics and applied computation.
